Research on the termiticidal efficacy against termites (Isoptera) of plant-derived formulations is of both scientific significance and high practical value. This study was conducted to determine the appropriate concentrations under laboratory conditions for controlling the major termite species damaging ancient Shan tea trees in Van Chan Commune. The findings provide a scientific basis for the practical application of termite control using the termite nest saturation method in effective pest management and production practices. In this study, the formulations were evaluated at three concentrations: 1%, 3%, and 5%. The results indicated that, for extracts derived from Nicotiana tabacum leaves, increasing the extract concentration resulted in higher termite mortality and shorter lethal time. Using the direct spraying method, the most suitable concentration was 5%, achieving a termite mortality rate of 98.7% after 6 hours of experimentation. Under the fumigation method, termite mortality increased and the time to death decreased as the formulation concentration increased. The most effective concentration was also 5%, resulting in a termite mortality rate of 83.0% after 11 hours of observation.
